Week of October 6th


Reading:  We will FINISH our novel study on the book Wonder. We will have a dedication ceremony of our Buddy Bench for the entire school Friday at 8:30! Please feel free to join! We will be explaining the buddy bench to the entire school and celebrating August Pullman’s birthday!!

Writing/Language:  
We will continue our unit on types of letters by discussing the parts of a business letter. We will also begin writing letters to the editor about our views on bullying and why we created a buddy bench at OES!
 
Math:
We will continue to practice our basic multiplication facts and be discussing strategies to multiply large numbers. Students will be required to study multiplication flash cards for ten minutes a night until they master their facts. Please initial their studying log nightly. 
 
Science/Social Studies:
In science we’ll continue our animal unit with animal senses and inherited/instinctive behaviors.
In social studies we will begin our colony unit by discussing early Spanish, French, Dutch & English settlements.
 
 

Anchor Down these Assessments/Due Dates

  • We will have a test on our Wonder vocab set #3 Tuesday.
  • We will have a quotation marks test in language Thursday.

Our Captain of the Week is Ethan Bolding!! Ethan is a wonderful student and
