Week of October 13th


Reading:  This week we will be establishing our guided reading groups, tying up any loose ends in our “Choose Kind” PBL, including a final Wonder test, and getting ready for our “Tread Lightly” PBL!
 
Writing/Language:  
We will continue our unit on types of letters by discussing the parts of a business letter. We finish writing letters to the editor about our views on bullying and why we created a buddy bench at OES!
 
Math:
We will continue to practice our basic multiplication facts and be discussing strategies to multiply large numbers. Students will be required to study multiplication flash cards for ten minutes a night until they master their facts. Please initial their studying log nightly. 
 
Science/Social Studies:
In science we’ll continue our animal unit with animal senses and inherited/instinctive behaviors.
In social studies we will continue our colony unit by discussing early English colonies and the Original 13 English colonies!
 
 
 

Anchor Down these Assessments/Due Dates

  • We will have a final Wonder test on Friday, which will include our last set of vocab.
  • SS Colonies test- NEXT week

-School Spirit Day- Friday, October 17th
-Parent-Teacher conferences will be held the week of October 20th
