Reading: This week we will kick off our “Tread Lightly”
PBL! Be looking for a note home about this PBL. We will start with discussing
why we love Earth, then go into the topic of deforestation, focusing on
nonfiction text features while we read War
of the Woods.

Writing/Language:
We will finish talking about fragments, complete
sentences, run-on sentences, and compound sentences. We will begin an argumentative paragraph defending
the side of environmentalists or loggers in the debate of deforestation!

Math:
We will
continue to practice our basic multiplication facts and be discussing strategies
to multiply large numbers: traditional, lattice, window, and expanded.

Science/Social Studies:
In science we’ll continue our animal unit with animal
senses and inherited/instinctive behaviors.
In social studies we will continue our colony unit by discussing early English colonies and the Original 13 English colonies!
