Making Kaleidoscopes!

A Kaleidoscope Experiment

My class did an experiment with a kaleidoscope. We made our kaleidoscope out of three small mirrors and two small different colored pieces of paper and clear tape. If you look in it at different angles you can see more than one of the papers. When light hits one mirror it just reflects. My prediction was that the light would reflect and I could see cool designs. My prediction wasn’t exactly right but it was half way right. I think this experiment was very fun and exciting. Everyone should try to make a kaleidoscope!

In science we made a kaleidoscope. We got three mirrors and taped them into a triangle. Next we got waxed paper and cut a triangle out of the paper. Then we taped the paper triangle to the mirror triangle. Next we cut out little pieces of paper and put them into the mirror triangle. I saw a ton of little pieces of colored paper. This happened when white light hit one mirror it reflected to another mirror and to another.

In our class we made a kaleidoscope. We had 3 mirrors, tape, wax paper and construction paper.  We taped the 3 mirrors in a triangle, then we cut the construction paper into little pieces and put them in the kaleidoscope.  Before we put the paper in we traced the triangle and cut out the wax paper and taped it to the bottom.  The 3 mirrors reflected light and made the little pieces of paper either triple or double.
